Wind Tunnel

NEW FOR 2004, will be the incorporation of the SkyVenture WIND TUNNEL. Located at a DZ about 20 minutes from Elsinore, the plan is to:

  • Groundschool you as normal in UK prior to flying to CA
  • Day 1 morning of your course we conduct your refresher training at Elsinore
  • Day 1 afternoon aim to complete AFF levels 1 & 2
  • Then before your level 3 (release dive) 15 minutes of tunnel time !

The training package has been confirmed and will cost £175 for 15 minutes including coaching. This really is money well spent as it may well mean reduction in the cost of you requiring re-jumps on the AFF course itself. The wind tunnel phase will of course be optional but please do talk to me before you make your mind up.

Having returned for a second time to finish off my AFF, I would say the wind tunnel made a huge difference for me. I had two fifteen minute sessions in there, the first one helped to identify the problems I was having in the air (too flexible at the waist and legs not out far enough).  It wasn’t an instant cure for me, I found back in the air my legs still kept creeping back in causing me to back slide with a left hand turn. But at least I knew what the problem was and eventually managed to sort it out. I think without the wind tunnel I would probably have had to repeat a few more jumps, so I think for AFF it is definitely money well spent.

My second session in there felt a lot more fun because I knew what to expect and I felt I had massive improvements whilst I was in there for a second time, most of all I came out thinking what a fantastic “toy” it is.
