What can Ph.D offer once your a Skydiver?

Transfer of skills to UK
Unlike some cheaper AFF Courses taught abroad, PhD will operate with qualified BPA AFF and Advanced Instructors only, there will be NO problem upon your return to UK.  Not only will your log book reflect the professional manner in which you have been instructed, but to ease you into your new UK DZ we will make every attempt  to help arrange that all important first day for you.

By use of our contacts within the sport we will make every attempt to either meet with you at your home DZ or at least have someone expecting  to welcome you to the club. PhD skydiving does not subscribe to the idea that once you are off the AFF course our job is done, we will be available for any advise or information we can give you until you are settled into your new home DZ.  At PhD we want you to carry on jumping safely and enjoyably for many years to come.

Progression Training
As well as introducing you into the sport and attaining your BPA Cat 8 * qualification.   PhD is able and Very Willing to take you the next step to help you attain your BPA Cat 10 **.  To make you into a competent skydiver able and confident to jump with other skydivers.

Whether you want  to jump just for fun, or you want to go further and think of team skydiving the basic skills are exactly the same, knowing how to fly your body in relation to others. The best teaching method designed to date is the Skydive University program.  This consists of approximately 20 jumps grouped into 5 modules.  Each module will teach and then practice you in a new more detailed set of flying skills.

Once again time spent on the ground will consist of good quality, personalised, coaching.  You will work 1 on 1 with your coach for the duration of the program.  The amount of modules you complete is entirely up to you.

Do not think this is all a bit too much for you so soon on, last year between 2 separate trips to the USA 9 out of 13 complete novices qualified BPA Cat 10 ** in only 2 weeks (some completing as many as 12 formations during their qualifying Skydive).  That is what can be achieved when you combine good weather with good instructors and students who want to learn !

3 way formation

4 way formation

The British method of teaching Formation Skydiving is based on the WARP (Worldwide Approved Relative Work Progression) system, consists of approximately 10 jumps but with less emphasis on some of the more detailed ground school skills taught with Skydive U. PhD does not subscribe to these more 'dated' training techniques.

Progression courses can be taught at any of our host Drop Zones not only on the end of the AFF course but at any time after.  Contact Martin at PhD skydiving and talk through your requirements, we will do our best to help.

* BPA Cat 8

** BPA Cat 10
