Restrictions

Skydivers are NOT a race of Superhuman Daredevils.... They are ordinary men and women of all shapes and sizes that range in age from late teens to late sixties.  The one thing they all share in common is the love of the sport and the appreciation of the excitement it puts into their lives.

You will be pleased to learn that there are very few restrictions to becoming a skydiver.  All parachute courses run by Ph.D Skydiving will be run in accordance with BPA rules regardless of the location of the host DZ. So with this in mind here are the restrictions imposed on our courses:

  • You must be between 16 and 50 years of age. (although there can be exceptions to the upper limit) If you are under 18 you must have written consent off your parent or guardian.
  • You should be of reasonable health, please read the BPA medical declaration (included in our information pack) before signing it.  If you are over 40 you must obtain a doctor's signature on the BPA declaration of fitness form.
  • You should be of reasonable fitness but suppleness is more important than strength, advice on recommended pre course stretching exercises will be included in our information pack.
  • Your weight roughly in proportion to your height and no more than 15 stone / 95 kg.
  • The wearing of glasses or contact lenses is not a problem.
A sense of fun and an enthusiastic nature are highly recommended !
