to Martin Williams' BPA Instructors Ratings
- Category
System Basic Instructor (CSBI)
- FAI 'C' Certificate
(Red).
- Two Years
involved in Sport Parachuting.
- Written recommendation
from a Club Chief Instructor (CCI).
- BPA Packing
Certifcate.
After successfully
completing the CSBI course, the candidate will be permitted to instruct/coach
(Category System) Student Parachutists under direct supervision.
- Accelerated
Free Fall Basic Instructor (AFFBI)
- FAI 'C' Certificate
(Red).
- Two Years
involved in Sport Parachuting.
- Written recommendation
from a CCI.
- BPA Packing
Certifcate.
After successfully
completing the AFFBI course, the candidate will be permitted to instruct/brief
Accelerated Free Fall Student Parachutists under direct supervision.
- Category
System Instructor (CSI)
- At least
6 months as a CSBI.
- Written recommendation
from a CCI and a report of the work carried out whilst a CSBI.
After successfully
completing the CSI course, the candidate will be qualified to instruct/coach
(Category System) Student Parachutists up to Category 8.
- Accelerated
Free Fall Instructor (AFFI)
- At least
a CSBI or AFFBI or a Tandem Instructor.
- Hold a FAI
'D' Certificate (Red) and has a minimum of 10 hours free fall time.
- Written recommendation
from the candidates CCI.
After successfully
completing the AFFI course, the candidate will be qualified to instruct/coach
AFF Student Parachutists.
- Advanced
Instructor (AI)
- Has been
a CSI for at least 3 years.
- Hold a FAI
'D' Certificate (Red).
- Has completed
a night descent and display descent.
After successfully
completing the Pre-AI Course and the AI examination course, the candidate
will be awarded Advanced Instructor status.
- CSI/AFF
Instructor Examiner (IE)
- Has been
a AI for at least 2 years.
- Prove his/her
ability to examine candidates on Instructors courses and able to
critique instructors.
- Is able to
present the required lectures on Instructor Courses.
On successful completion
of the requirements for upgrading to IE, two IEs will sign the qualification
of the candidate. He/She will then be awarded Instructor Examiner status.
