Biography of Martin Williams of Ph.D Skydiving

Martin Williams, born in Cardiff , Wales , UK in 1957 he joined the army when he was 17 and spent the next 22 years soaking up the experiences thrown at him.

Extensively travelled and having worked in all manner of civilised and not so civilised places has given Martin an exciting and colourful life, from which he draws upon many lessons enabling him to show a mature and responsible approach to life in general and skydiving instruction in particular.

Martin started parachuting in 1984 while serving in the Parachute Regiment, initially using static line operated, round canopies.  On only his 10th jump he found himself on a military freefall course (HALO), at 12,000' jumping from the tailgate of a Hercules aircraft all alone and wide eyed, wondering if the ground training would work !  it did and that was the start of his participation in a sport that would fill his life.

Now some 16 years and thousands of jumps later... Martin, now a civilian is training students to overcome that very same fear, and reach out for the exhilaration that is skydiving.  He has now attained his BPA CSI & AFF Instructor Examiner, Formation Skydiving coach, Skydive University coach ratings.  These together with his long experience of training and instructing in the Para's has given Martin a sound understanding of what is going through the minds of his students and how best to deal with them.
